Thanks to Keenan J in Year 9 who loaned us his DJI Phantom 4 drone (I want one!) we got some glorious shots of the school from 50 meters up.
For the curious (and this will be explained in the video we’re posting next week) drone laws in Australia are as follows:
- Must be more than 30 metres away from an individual not directly involved in the operation of the drone
- Must be under 120 metres
- Must NOT be flown in populated areas – e.g. beaches, parks and schools.
Since this was an official school activity, the third point didn’t apply to us, however we did notify the school before hand that it was happening, and used an altitude of 50 metres just to be on the safe side.
Enjoy the video, and have a great weekend!
